The Responsive Ground Research Lab is a transdisciplinary platform focused on researching the concept of “ground,” representing adaptive interfaces and dynamic scenarios through design. It fosters a non-hierarchical structure that values students as key researchers, collaborating with faculty to address complex urban and ecological issues and promoting innovation through collective exploration. Utilizing bio-oriented and transcalar methodologies, the lab develops adaptive design practices that enhance resilient micro-ecosystems. By combining data-driven analysis, experimentation and artificial intelligence simulations, the lab challenges linear thinking, advocating for a cyclical and regenerative model of urban ecosystems while creating a space for discussion on ecologically conscious cities.
